Cars 3: Inspired by NASCAR

Lightning McQueenThis exhibit will be on display in the Great Hall from Sept. 28, 2017 - July 8, 2018.*

Disney•Pixar and the NASCAR Hall of Fame have teamed up to bring the inspiration for the newest movie from the “Cars” franchise to life.

In this limited-time exhibit, guests are invited to discover the real life NASCAR personalities who either voiced or inspired the characters featured in “Cars 3.” The detailed fictional world of “Cars” is filled with authentic references to the real world of NASCAR.

Inspired by the sport’s names, places and events, the film uses the rich history of NASCAR to create its settings, characters and plot. “‘Cars 3’ very much pays homage  to stock car racing and its rich history,” said “Cars 3” director Brian Fee. “Our story leans into the drama, emotion and excitement NASCAR fans find at every race.”

Lightning McQueen himself will be in the Great Hall for the entirety of the exhibit!

NASCAR drivers Chase Elliott (Chase Racelott), Ryan Blaney (Ryan “Inside” Laney), Daniel Suárez (Daniel Swervez) and Bubba Wallace (Bubba Wheelhouse) along with NASCAR legends Jeff Gordon (Jeff Gorvette), Richard “The King” Petty (Strip “The King” Weathers), Darrell Waltrip (Darrell Cartrip) and Ray Evernham (Ray Reverham) will also be featured in the exhibit.

The launch of the exhibit coincided with the fall in-home release of the summer’s high-octane hit Disney•Pixar’s “Cars 3,” which cruised into homes digitally in HD and 4K Ultra HD™ on Thursday, Oct. 24 and on Blu-ray 4K Ultra HD™ and Blu-ray™ on Tuesday, Nov. 7. The film is loaded with all-new bonus features including the mini-movie starring the demolition derby legend Miss Fritter, a legends piece featuring the NASCAR greats/historians who helped shape the film, behind-the-scenes stories about the making of the film, deleted scenes and more.
