If you think the JR Nation Appreci88ion Tour ended with Dale Earnhardt Jr.’s retirement at the end of 2017, think again. The celebration continues at the NASCAR Hall of Fame, where “JR Nation Appreci88ion Tour Continues” relives Earnhardt Jr.’s wins both on and off the track, including his 15 consecutive years as the National Motorsports Press Association’s Most Popular Driver.
A collaborative effort between the Hall of Fame and JR Motorsports, the exhibit’s centerpiece is the Earnhardt Jr.’s No. 88 Axalta-sponsored Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet SS, which he drove in his final race at Homestead-Miami Speedway on Nov. 19, 2017. Gifted to him by NASCAR Hall of Famer Rick Hendrick (2017) after the race, the black-and-red car is on display alongside 36 photos and a collection of trophies and fire suits highlighting hallmark moments in Earnhardt Jr.’s career from his first start to his 631st.
