Wins and Champions
Wins and Champions
In the world of NASCAR, the driver who wins the most races is not necessarily the points champion at the end of the season. NASCAR point systems have emphasized consistency throughout the season as opposed to the number of wins. Every Sprint Cup champion has won at least one race during their championship season. For instance, Carl Edwards has one victory in 2011 but he leads in points. Tony Stewart has four wins and he sits in second place going into the final race of the year.
Here is a list of champions who have not won the most races.
