NASCAR Hall of Fame Race Week Activities Offer Full-Throttle Fun for Fans

Special Hours, Racing Insiders Tours, Driver Appearances, "Five Kahne" 5K and More

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (Oct. 3, 2014) – The NASCAR Hall of Fame has a full lineup of events and activities to enhance the experience for race fans in Charlotte during race week including extended hours at the NASCAR Hall of Fame Oct. 9-12.

Fans and visitors can experience the interactive, entertainment attraction during special operating hours Thursday, Oct. 9 and Friday Oct. 10 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 11 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday, Oct. 12 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. All other dates in October will be normal operating hours of 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

MONDAY, OCT. 6
Racing Insiders Tour: Tour 85 Featuring Kurt Busch

The Racing Insiders Tour is an all-access, in-depth tour in and around Charlotte’s racing community. On this special tour, NASCAR Sprint Cup Series driver Kurt Busch will participate in a meet and greet with participants at Stewart-Haas Racing. WEDNESDAY, OCT. 8
Roush Fenway Day at the NASCAR Hall of Fame

Roush Fenway drivers Trevor Bayne, Chris Buescher and Ryan Reed will make a special appearance at the NASCAR Hall of Fame. The drivers will participate in a Q&A, autograph session and racing simulator challenge. The event begins at 4 p.m. General admission tickets are required. *Drivers are subject to change.

THURSDAY, OCT. 9
Racing Insiders Tour: Tour 77

The Racing Insiders Tour is an all-access, in-depth tour in and around Charlotte’s racing community. The Tour 77 itinerary makes stops at the NASCAR Hall of Fame and shops along Interstate 77 including Joe Gibbs Racing, Penske Racing and Michael Waltrip Racing. FRIDAY, OCT. 10
Racing Insiders Tour: Tour 85

The Racing Insiders Tour is an all-access, in-depth tour in and around Charlotte’s racing community. The Tour 85 itinerary makes stops at the NASCAR Hall of Fame and shops along Interstate 85 including Stewart-Haas Racing, Roush Fenway Racing and Hendrick Motorsports. SATURDAY, OCT. 11
Nationwide Drivers Day at the NASCAR Hall of Fame

NASCAR Nationwide Series drivers Chad Boat, Joey Gase, Dakoda Armstrong, Jeremy Clements, Tanner Berryhill, Ryan Ellis, Blake Koch and Eric McClure will make a special appearance at the NASCAR Hall of Fame. The drivers will be split up for two fan Q&As at 11 a.m. and 12:10 p.m. Legends and Champions Club level members of the NASCAR Hall of Fame will participate in a private meet and greet with some of the Nationwide drivers at 10 a.m. and all NASCAR Hall of Fame members are invited to a members-only autograph session at 11:40 a.m. General admission tickets are required for non-members. *Drivers are subject to change. SUNDAY, OCT. 12
Fifth Annual Kasey Kahne Foundation “Five Kahne” 5K Presented by Great Clips

Fans are invited to lace up their running shoes and do a little racing of their own in the fifth annual Kasey Kahne Foundation “Five Kahne” 5K Presented by Great Clips. Participants can run alongside Kasey Kahne and other NASCAR celebrities as they hit the streets of Uptown Charlotte. The start and finish lines as well as post-race awards with Kasey Kahne and ESPN’s Marty Smith will be at the NASCAR Hall of Fame Plaza. Proceeds benefit the Ronald McDonald House of Charlotte and Friends of the NASCAR Hall of Fame, which provides grants that fund field trips for students in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM). Since 2011, the field trip grant has allowed more than 4,080 students to visit the NASCAR Hall of Fame. Packet pickup begins at 8:15 a.m., the 5K race begins at 10 a.m. and the Kids Dash begins at 10:45 a.m. The Kids Dash is free for children ages 7 and under. Novant Health Hemby Children’s Hospital, the title sponsor of the Kids Dash, will be on site in a special cheering section made up of children who have benefited from the hospital’s programs. Spectators are encouraged to stop by the Novant Health tent to pick up a special sign that children made for cheering on the runners. Legends Member Lunch (Legends Members Only)
Legends level members of the NASCAR Hall of Fame are invited to a private lunch in the Legends Room following the Kasey Kahne Foundation “Five Kahne” 5K. For more information about becoming a member, visit www.nascarhall.com/membership.

About the NASCAR Hall of Fame
Conveniently located in Uptown Charlotte, N.C., the 150,000-square-foot NASCAR Hall of Fame is an interactive, entertainment attraction honoring the history and heritage of NASCAR.
