The NASCAR Hall of Fame will be located in the heart of uptown Charlotte, directly across the street from the Charlotte Convention Center with the front entrance facing the corner of Martin Luther King Boulevard and Brevard Street. The site will provide NASCAR fans and visitors with easy interstate access and readily available parking.

What does the new NASCAR Hall of Fame bring to the meeting attendee?

Charlotte was chosen by NASCAR to be the home of one of the premier hall of fames in the world of sports and entertainment – it is truly a destination to be unsurpassed by others in the country and beyond.

The new NASCAR Hall of Fame will be connected to the Charlotte Convention Center which will offer a brand new 44,000 square foot, 2500 seat ballroom which is part of a 102,000 square foot expansion to the already ample meeting and event space of the 850,000 square foot Convention Center.

The Charlotte Regional Visitors Authority (of which Visit Charlotte is a segment of) will be responsible for the operation of and booking of space for the Convention Center and the NASCAR Hall of Fame….one contact for all.

The majority of the NASCAR racing teams have their base of operations in the surrounding region. Many of these will be within reach as events are added to the landscape of the Hall of Fame; perhaps another destination for your meeting!

Who will operate the facility and why should a meeting planner be interested in this?

The NASCAR Hall of Fame will be operated by the Charlotte Regional Visitors Authority (CRVA). The CRVA currently operates Visit Charlotte, the city’s convention and visitors bureau component, the Charlotte Convention Center, Ovens Auditorium, Cricket Arena and a portion of operational and security responsibilities at the new Charlotte Bobcats Arena. Now with the opportunity to operate the new NASCAR Hall of Fame, this trusted organization will provide the meeting planner many benefits, including one contact for all negotiating, contracts, etc. CRVA will serve the meeting planner with the same quality service that our organization is known for now.

What are the advantages of this location and its components?

Significant expansion of the Charlotte Convention Center.

The expansion of the Charlotte Convention Center's meeting capacity, the synergy with the NASCAR Hall of Fame connected by an overstreet walkway and the same award-winning cuisine and services will again highlight Charlotte as the place to hold your meetings from 2010 and beyond.

With over 600 flights a day, the already accessible Convention Center is convenient for those flying in or for those driving in to Charlotte by way of I-85, I-77 and many other routes. A reconfiguration of the interchange adjacent to the new NASCAR Hall of Fame and the Convention Center will make it all even more convenient.

There are substantial economic development opportunities for adjacent vacant property. The natural progression for development with the new NASCAR Hall of Fame would be retail components near and adjacent to the new facility. We will keep you informed!

When can I start to reserve space?

We anticipate specific meeting space information for the NASCAR Hall of Fame to be available in early 2009.

Will the configuration and design of the current Convention Center be changed?

Yes, but again it is all in the conceptual stage at this time.

What access will we have to NASCAR drivers and executives for our meetings?

Individual availability will be on a case-by-case basis for each driver or executive. Although having a very demanding schedule, NASCAR competitors have long been noted as the most accessible and fan friendly in all of sports. With the majority of NASCAR racing teams located in the region, the NASCAR Hall of Fame staff will be available to assist our customers in making those contacts and helping determine availability. In addition to current NASCAR drivers, many of NASCAR’s legends are also based in the Charlotte region.

What is the parking availability at and near the new Hall of Fame?

There are over 1,000 additional parking spaces being constructed as a part of the NASCAR Hall of Fame and NASCAR Plaza complex. 400 spaces are dedicated to the NASCAR Hall of Fame and over 600 spaces to the NASCAR Plaza office tower during normal business hours. All 1,000+ spaces will be available to NASCAR Hall of Fame visitors after normal business hours and on weekends.
