Community Program

Mixed-level Girl Scout troops — including Daisies, Brownies, and Juniors — can participate in hands-on badge workshops led by NASCAR Hall of Fame educators.

The NASCAR Hall of Fame offers a Community Program designed for mixed-level Girl Scout troops — including Daisy, Brownie, and Junior scouts — to explore STEM together through racing-inspired design and innovation. This 60-minute session is available virtually or in person.

Automotive Engineering – Blended Program

Badges Earned: Automotive Design · Automotive Engineering · Automotive Manufacturing

This program adapts to the needs of multi-level troops and is taught to the largest represented scout level to ensure a cohesive experience. Each scout participates in age-appropriate challenges that highlight creativity, teamwork, and the engineering design process.

If Junior scouts are part of the troop but not the largest level, leaders will receive supplemental post-session instructions to complete the Junior-level Automotive Engineering badge. These follow-up activities ensure that all scouts successfully fulfill their badge requirements.

What Scouts Do

  • Automotive Design: Explore why vehicles have different designs and purposes. Create your own custom car concept and model it in 3-D using clay.
  • Automotive Manufacturing: Learn how engineers plan, test, and build cars. Discover the importance of assembly lines and practice organizing materials for efficient production.
  • Automotive Engineering: Build and test a small race car (design varies by level) and participate in a friendly team challenge to test which design travels the farthest.
