NASCAR Hall of Fame Licensed Tour Allows Guests to Remember The Life of Dale Earnhardt

Unique two-day motorcoach tour features NASCAR Hall of Fame, Earnhardt-specific attractions

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (Feb. 2, 2010) – The NASCAR Hall of Fame and AIM Tours are offering a once in-a-lifetime experience to reflect on the career of Inaugural Inductee Dale Earnhardt. The Dale Tour, a special two-day motorcoach tour limited to 50 people, gives guests the opportunity to tour the NASCAR Hall of Fame, meet Martha Earnhardt, have lunch at the RCR Museum, join a candlelight vigil at DEI and visit many other Earnhardt-specific attractions Thursday, Feb. 17 - Friday, Feb. 18.

“This clearly is one of the most impactful careers in the sport’s history, and we are honored to help fans reflect on Dale’s legacy,” said Winston Kelley, executive director of the NASCAR Hall of Fame. “Dale was a NASCAR icon, a hero, a true racer and, not surprisingly, a part of the inaugural class of inductees. This exceptional two-day tour is a treat for any fan of Earnhardt, NASCAR or North Carolina history.”

The Dale Tour is a special two-day version of NASCAR Hall of Fame’s popular Ultimate Fan Experience tour and gives fans a look into the life of one of NASCAR’s most beloved drivers. It recognizes many of Earnhardt’s accomplishments on the racetrack as well as a behind-the-scenes look into his life off the track. Tickets are $179 per person and include two days of lunch, transportation and attraction admissions.

“RCR is very proud of its championship heritage with Dale Earnhardt,” said Richard Childress, president and CEO of Richard Childress Racing. “We hope the fans who participate in The Dale Tour will enjoy their time at the RCR Museum, the NASCAR Hall of Fame and all of the other stops along the way. It will be a great way to celebrate the life and legacy of a NASCAR legend.”

Tour participants begin their first day with early admittance to the NASCAR Hall of Fame in uptown Charlotte, N.C. Upon arrival, guests will visit the Belk High Octane Theater, the Hall’s 278-seat state-of-the-art theater, for a special showing of the one-hour Dale Earnhardt documentary featured on SPEED TV. Tour guests then are given approximately three hours to explore the 40,000 square feet of exhibit space. The NASCAR Hall of Fame portion of the tour concludes with a catered lunch served in a souvenir NASCAR Hall of Fame lunch bag.

Guests continue the tour with an afternoon of stops at Dale Earnhardt Inc., Earnhardt Ganassi Racing and the Dale Trail Tour, a journey through Kannapolis and Mooresville to see important landmarks from Earnhardt’s life. The first day concludes with a very special reception at Curb Motorsports Museum with Martha Earnhardt, mother of Dale Earnhardt.

Day two begins with an audio tour and shop visit at Richard Childress Racing. Guests will enjoy a private lunch at the RCR Museum before continuing their afternoon at Childress Vineyards for a tour of the winery. Guests can join an optional wine tasting for a nominal fee. The tour will end at Dale Earnhardt Inc. for a candlelight memorial commemorating the 10th anniversary of his death.

“We are excited about the opportunity to join race fans in honoring Dale Earnhardt’s legacy and career through this special tour,” said Roger Haas, president of AIM Tours.

The Dale Tour is offered through AIM Tours in conjunction with the NASCAR Hall of Fame. Tickets are $179.00 per person. The Dale Tour is limited to 50 guests. To learn more call 704-938-7390 or visit www.NASCARHall.com.
