NASCAR Hall of Fame Waves the Green Flag for May Race Week Fan Experiences

From the inaugural Laps with Legends 5K to the debut of the Team Penske 60 exhibit, the Hall offers something for every NASCAR fan. 

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (May 20, 2026) – May Race Week is one of the most anticipated moments on the motorsports calendar, and the NASCAR Hall of Fame is rolling out a packed lineup of events, exhibits and fan experiences leading into the Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway on May 24, 2026.

“The energy, excitement and activities at the NASCAR Hall of Fame are always elevated around Charlotte Race Weeks. Fresh off the heels of announcing our Class of 2027 Inductees, we’re excited to share our newest exhibit and engaging programming with our guests and provide them with memorable experiences throughout the weekend and experience all the Charlotte region has to offer,” said Winston Kelley, Executive Director of the NASCAR Hall of Fame. “We’re also very excited about our latest fundraising program that enables us to provide inspiring educational programming to students most in need and have Hall of Famers Richard Petty, Kurt Busch and Carl Edwards here to participate.”

“TEAM PENSKE 60: A NASCAR HALL OF FAME EXHIBIT”: OPENS MAY 21

The NASCAR Hall of Fame has partnered with Team Penske to present “Team Penske 60: A NASCAR Hall of Fame Exhibit,” a limited-time Great Hall showcase celebrating 60 years of racing excellence. Founded in 1966 by Roger Penske (NASCAR Hall of Fame Class of 2019 Inductee), Team Penske has earned 48 national championships and more than 660 victories across multiple racing series. Six iconic race cars and more than 50 artifacts bring the team’s legacy to life, highlighting its history, achievements and enduring influence on motorsports. Learn more here.

NASCAR HALL OF FAME FOUNDATION LAPS WITH LEGENDS 5K: MAY 23

The NASCAR Hall of Fame Foundation is presenting its inaugural Laps with Legends 5K, a high-energy run (or walk) bringing together fans, families and NASCAR Hall of Famers for a course through some of Uptown Charlotte’s most iconic spots. All proceeds benefit the NASCAR Hall of Fame Foundation’s scholarship program, which helps ensure all students have access to hands-on STRE(A)M-based educational programming at the Hall.

Richard Petty (NASCAR Hall of Fame Class of 2010 Inductee) will wave the green flag, with appearances by Carl Edwards (NASCAR Hall of Fame Class of 2025 Inductee), Kurt Busch (NASCAR Hall of Fame Class of 2026 Inductee) and Lyda Moore. Registration and more information can be found here.

SPECIAL PROGRAMMING: MAY 23-24

The Hall will offer engaging programming designed to entertain and educate visitors of all ages and experience levels.

  • Know Your Inductee Challenge Fans can test their Induction process knowledge with a fast-paced trivia challenge celebrating the Class of 2027. The questionnaire is available in rookie and veteran versions, and all participants receive a prize upon completion. Learn more here.
  • Class of 2027 Fast Facts This interactive experience offers an early look at the next class of inductees through race footage, fun facts and career highlights for each member of the newly announced Class of 2027, including the Landmark Award winner. Learn more here.

CLASS OF 2027 INDUCTION TICKETS ON SALE

June 10 at 10 a.m.

The NASCAR Hall of Fame is set to induct the Class of 2027 on January 22, 2027. The three-person group, the 17th since the NASCAR Hall of Fame’s inception in 2010, consists of Kevin Harvick, Jeff Burton and Larry Phillips. In addition, Lesa France Kennedy was named the recipient of the Landmark Award for Outstanding Contributions to NASCAR. MAY IS MEMBER APPRECIATION MONTH

Hall members are celebrated all month with unique prize giveaways and exclusive perks, including 25% off at the Gear Shop. On May 23, members are invited to an exclusive gathering with the Class of 2026 inductees in the Hall of Honor. Members are also invited to stop by the NASCAR Hall of Fame Member Tent in the Fan Zone at Charlotte Motor Speedway before the Coca-Cola 600 to meet NASCAR Hall of Fame staff and claim special giveaways.
