Lefts and Rights
Be a "spotter" for your friends!
10-Minute Activity
Lefts and Rights
One of the unsung careers in NASCAR is the spotter. Spotters are the eyes in the sky for drivers and assist them in maneuvering around the track. Find a family member or two to help you with this activity. They will be drivers and must follow your instructions to get from one place in your house or backyard to another.
As the spotter, create your own set of signals to tell the driver how to maneuver:
- Left
- Right
- Sideways
- Backwards
You can either verbal signals if you blindfold the drivers, or you can do a visual signal, but the driver cannot talk. They must only do what you show them. Both ways can be fun! If your driver crashes or hits something, they go back to the start. And you have a re-start, just like an actual race.
