Fall STEM Days: Kids Go Free!

Get ready to race into hands-on activities, science and plenty of fun at the NASCAR Hall of Fame! Explore the science behind speed through interactive STEM activities inspired by Team Penske, from aerodynamics and physics to chemistry, math, art and design. Kids can put their skills to the test, discover how STEM powers racing and have plenty of fun along the way. 

Plus, kids get in FREE with a paying adult! **

Schedule of Activities

10:30 am – Science of Sound – What makes a NASCAR engine roar? Explore sound energy and how its volume impacts us every day. Investigate the science behind the powerful sounds we hear at the track with a hands-on demonstration.

11:30 am – The Power of Energy – What does it take to get a race car moving? Explore the different forms of energy that power a NASCAR race. Then conduct a hands-on experiment to discover how energy helps cars to move and perform on the track.

1:00 pm – Forces on the Track – Explore how gravity, friction, and air impact the performance of a race car. Investigate how engineers design race cars to work with these forces. Get ready to put forces to the test!

2:00 pm – Weather Impacts – Weather has a major impact on our lives and on NASCAR. Identify the ways that weather might impact a race car by engaging with weather devices and hands-on activities.

3:00 pm – Engineering to Race – Engineering is all around us and it’s what makes so many of the things we use every day work! Explore how engineers use problem-solving, creativity, and science to find ways to improve cars and tracks. Think like an engineer with a fun challenge and put ideas to the test.
