Inspection to Design: Computer Science at 200 MPH
Grade Levels: 9-12
Data and program testing, graphic design and gaming design
Subject: CTE, Computer Science, IT and Technology Education (CSITT)
Program Description: NASCAR has evolved from hand-drawn designs to CAD designs, from human inspection of cars to laser inspections and from hand-painted designs and art to computer-generated designs. As technology moves forward, so does the sport of NASCAR. During this session, students will participate in one of three challenges utilizing computer science to engineer a solution. The challenge is based on the focus of the CSITT program at school. Challenges include graphic design, inspection (computer officiating) and digital fan engagement. The challenge will start at the NASCAR Hall of Fame and continue with additional virtual sessions post-visit with staff members.
