NASCAR Hall of Fame Shifts Into High Gear for May Race Week With New Exhibits and Special Programming for Fans

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (May 22, 2025) – May Race Week, one of the most anticipated times of the year for motorsports in Charlotte, is set to deliver an unforgettable experience for members, fans and visitors of all ages. The NASCAR Hall of Fame will celebrate the excitement of race season with dynamic events and fan-focused activities leading up to the Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway on May 25.

“Charlotte Race Weekend is a truly special occasion for the NASCAR Hall of Fame, as well as for both local and visiting fans,” said Winston Kelley, Executive Director of the NASCAR Hall of Fame. “Our goal is always to deliver fresh and exciting experiences for our guests—whether they’re stepping through our doors for the first time or the hundredth.”

From exclusive exhibits to special member perks, the Hall offers unique activities that highlight the rich legacy of NASCAR while offering interactive experiences that bring the thrill of the sport to life in the heart of Uptown Charlotte. Below is information on all of the high-octane happenings fans can look forward to this weekend at the NASCAR Hall of Fame.

DARLINGTON RACEWAY 75TH ANNIVERSARY EXHIBIT: NOW OPEN
Experience the legacy of one of NASCAR’s most legendary tracks with the Darlington Raceway 75th Anniversary Exhibit. This dynamic showcase honors the storied history of the “Track Too Tough to Tame,” featuring four immersive display cases, 24 rare artifacts, 25 historic photographs, and tributes to 28 NASCAR Hall of Fame Inductees. Notable items include Darlington’s original sanctioning agreement, Buck Baker’s 1952 championship jacket, Richard Petty’s record-breaking win plaque and the fire suit Kevin Harvick wore during NASCAR’s 2020 return to racing.

VICTORY LANE MARTIN TRUEX, JR. CAR DISPLAY: NOW OPEN
On display is a replica of the No. 19 Toyota driven by Martin Truex, Jr. during his 2019 Coca-Cola 600 victory for Joe Gibbs Racing. This car carried a banner across the windshield honoring U.S. Navy Chief Petty Officer Nicholas “Nick” Null, an Explosive Ordnance Disposal Technician killed in action during Operation Enduring Freedom in 2011. Prior to the 2019 race, Truex met with members of Null’s family and later shared a heartfelt celebration with them in Victory Lane following his win.

WOOD BROTHERS 75TH ANNIVERSARY EXHIBIT: OPENS MAY 23
This Great Hall exhibit celebrates the 75th anniversary of Wood Brothers Racing, honoring its legendary on-track achievements, groundbreaking innovations, deep ties to the NASCAR Hall of Fame, and enduring legacy of multi-generational family leadership. The Wood Brothers Racing team story combines the original vision of Glenn Wood (Class of 2012) with the technological genius of younger brother Leonard Wood (Class of 2013). Founded in 1950, Wood Brothers Racing holds the distinction of being NASCAR’s longest continuously operating team.

PATHWAY TO NOMINATION: MAY 24
Fans are invited to special programming that provides an in-depth look into the NASCAR Hall of Fame nomination process. This experience takes attendees behind the scenes for an immersive 45-minute session, offering insights into how 15 candidates are nominated for the sport’s highest honor. Attendees will gain insider knowledge about the esteemed panel behind the nominations, view a multimedia tribute to past nominees and participate in an engaging Q&A session. Read more here.

CLASS OF 2026 INDUCTION TICKETS ON SALE
The NASCAR Hall of Fame is set to induct the Class of 2026 on January 23, 2026. The three-person group – the 16th since the inception of the NASCAR Hall of Fame in 2010 – consists of Kurt Busch, Harry Gant and Ray Hendrick. In addition, Humpy Wheeler was named the recipient of the Landmark Award for Outstanding Contributions to NASCAR. MAY IS MEMBER APPRECIATION MONTH
Members are celebrated all month with 15 unique prize giveaways and exclusive perks, including 25% off at the Gear Shop. Members are invited to stop by the NASCAR Hall of Fame Member Tent in the Fan Zone at Charlotte Motor Speedway before the Coca-Cola 600 to meet NASCAR Hall of Fame staff and claim special giveaways.

  • Friday, May 23: 10 a.m.– 6 p.m.
  • Saturday, May 24: 9 a.m. – 6 p.m.
  • Sunday, May 25: 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.
  • Monday, May 26 (Memorial Day): 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.
